Pharaoh had not obeyed God. So God told Moses to go out and speak
to Pharaoh.
Moses told Pharaoh to let God's people go so that they could serve
Him. Moses told Pharaoh that God would send a hail storm which would
destroy almost everything in the fields and would kill anyone who
was outside.
Pharaoh's servants heard about the plague. Those who feared God's
word made their livestock and servants go into their houses. But
those who did not fear God's word left their livestock and servants
in the field where they were killed by the hail.
Then the Lord commanded Moses to stretch out his hand toward heaven
that there may be hail in all the land. So Moses stretched out his
rod toward heaven and the Lord sent thunder, hail, and fire from
heaven. But the Lord did not bring hail down on the children of
Israel.
After a while, Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron. Pharaoh confessed
that he was a sinner. He said that the Lord was righteous. And Pharaoh
said that he was wicked. Pharaoh asked Moses to entreat the Lord
to stop the hail storm. And, he promised to let them go and serve
God.
Moses went out of the city and spread out his hands to the Lord
and asked God to stop the hail storm. God immediately stopped the
hail storm so that Pharaoh would know that the earth was the Lord's.
Pharaoh saw that the hail storm stopped and sinned again. He hardened
his heart and would not let Israel go to serve God.
