We call on the name of the Lord (i.e., appeal to His authority)
to be saved by submitting to baptism. Our sins are washed away when
we are baptized (Acts 22:16). We are saved after being baptized
(1 Pet. 3:21; cf. Acts 2:38).
Jesus has commanded us to be baptized in order to be saved (Matt.
28:18-19; Mk. 16:15-16; cf. Acts 2:38; 1 Pet. 3:21). The people
who obey Him are saved (Heb. 5:9).
We must be baptized in the name of Jesus (i.e., baptized by the
authority of Jesus) to be saved (Acts 2:38; 8:12, 16; 10:43, 48).
