The Church: Doctrine of the Church

Col. 2:16-23


The church does not incorporate the doctrines and traditions of men.


Gal. 1:6-9


The church does not preach any other gospel but the gospel of Jesus Christ which was delivered to the world through the apostles (cf. 2 Th. 1:8).


2 Tim. 3:15-17


The doctrine of the church is revealed in Scripture. The church does not have any human creeds, catechisms, church manuals, or professions of faith (cf. 1 Tim. 4:1- 16; 2 Tim. 3:1-17).


1 Tim. 1:3; 2 Jn. 1:9


The church can teach no other doctrine than the doctrine of Jesus Christ (cf. Gal. 1:6-9).


Rev. 2:2, 14, 20


The church cannot embrace the doctrines of men (Col. 2:22-23; cf. 2 Tim. 3:16-4:2).


Rev. 3:8, 10

The church must keep Christ's word; the church must keep His commands (cf. Heb. 5:9).
