The Church: Financing the Work of the Church
Bible study on the church: financing the work of the church.

1 Cor. 16:1-2

A collection for the saints is taken up on the first day of the week. We should give as we have prospered.

2 Cor. 9:6

We are to sow bountifully with the financial blessings God has given us. God supplies seed to the sower (2 Cor. 9:10).

2 Cor. 9:7

We are to give cheerfully as we have purposed in our hearts.

Tithing was not carried forward into the church. We are to give as we have prospered and purposed in our hearts (cf. 1 Cor. 16:1-2).

God has not authorized the church to own businesses or sell merchandise to finance the work of the church.
