2 Tim. 4:2; Acts 5:42; 12:25-13:3


The church is responsible for preaching and teaching the gospel (cf. Eph. 4:11).


Acts 9:31; 1 Th. 5:11

The church is responsible for edifying (i.e., building up) the members (cf. 1 Cor. 14:26; Eph. 4:11).

When assembling, we consider one another in order to stir up love and good works (Heb. 10:24-25).


Acts 2:42; 12:5


The church worships God in prayer (cf. 4:23-31).


Acts 20:7; 1 Cor. 11:17-34


The church worships God in observing the Lord's Supper on the first day of the week.

The church worships by singing to admonish one another and singing to the Lord (Eph. 5:19).

The church worships by members giving as they have prospered and as they have purposed in our hearts, upon the first day of the week.

The church is responsible for providing the physical needs of poor Christians (cf. 1 Cor. 16:1-2; 2 Cor. 8:1- 9:15), relieving widows according to specified qualifications (1 Tim. 5:3-16).
