Love
Bible study on love.

Jn. 3:16

God loved the world so much that He sent His only begotten Son to earth. Whoever believes in Him, should not perish but have everlasting life.

Eph. 5:2

Christ loved us and offered Himself as a sacrifice to God; therefore, we should walk in love.

1 Jn. 4:19

We love God because He first loved us.

Jn. 14:15; 15:10

If we love Jesus, we will obey Him (Heb. 5:9; 2 Th. 1:8).

1 Jn. 5:3

If we love God, we will keep His commandments.

Gal. 5:6

Faith works through love.

When we obey God, the things we do are a work of faith (1 Th. 1:3; cf. Rom. 10:17) and labor of love (1 Th. 1:3).

The love of Christ controls (compels) us (2 Cor. 5:14).

Jn. 13:34-35

The world knows that we are Christ's disciples by the love we have for one another.

Rom. 13:8

We should not owe anyone anything except to love one another.

Matt. 22:34-40; Gal. 5:14

Love fulfills the law.

1 Jn. 3:14

Love separates the saved from the lost.

1 Jn. 3:16

Jesus laid down His life for us and we should lay down our lives for one another (cf. Heb. 13:1; 1 Pet. 1:22).

Eph. 5:25-29

Husbands must love their wives as Christ loved the church (Christ died for the church) and as they love themselves.

Col. 3:19

Husbands are to love their wives and are not to be bitter toward them.

Husbands must dwell with their wives in an understanding manner, giving them honor as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together (1 Pet. 3:7).

Tit. 2:4

Women should love their husbands and children.

Fathers should not provoke their children, lest they become discouraged (Col. 3:21).

Fathers should not provoke their children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord (Eph. 6:4).

1 Cor. 13:4-8

Love suffers long, is kind, does not envy, does not parade itself, is not puffed up, does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil, rejoices in the truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things; love never fails.

1 Jn. 2:15-17

We should not love the world or the things in the world (2 Tim. 4:10).

We are either friends of God or friends of the world (Jas. 4:4).
