Prayer

Matt. 6:5-15

Jesus taught His disciples to pray.

Rom. 1:9; 1 Th. 2:13

Paul prayed constantly (i.e., all the time).

1 Th. 5:16-18

We rejoice all the time by praying all the time.

Rom. 12:12

We must continue steadfastly in prayer.

1 Cor. 14:15-16

Amen may be said by individuals at the end of a prayer. "Amen" means so let it be (cf. Eph. 3:21).

1 Cor. 14:15

We must pray with understanding.

Phil. 4:6-7

We are anxious for nothing through prayer.

1 Pet. 5:6-7

We humbly cast our cares upon God through prayer.

1 Pet. 3:7

Husbands must act properly toward their wives or their prayers will be hindered (cf. 1 Pet. 3:12).

1 Tim. 2:8

We must pray lifting up holy hands ("holy hands" denotes being holy and thus righteousness before God), without wrath, without doubting.

Is. 59:1-2 God does not hear our prayers if we are living in sin (cf. 1 Pet. 3:7). Our sins separate us from God.

Also, see HAPPINESS.
