Matt. 23:5-12

Religious titles such as father or teacher are forbidden. God is silent on wearing religious titles such as Pastor, Elder, Reverend, etc. Therefore wearing titles are not authorized. See, AUTHORITY.

1 Cor. 12:23-25

We must consider each member of the body equal, so that there is no schism (i.e., tearing) of the body (cf. Rom. 12:10, 16; 2 Cor. 13:11; Phil. 2:2). Wearing religious titles sets one person above another; thus, each member is not equal when religious titles are employed.

Rom. 12:16

We must be of the same mind toward each other. Religious titles prevent us from being of the same mind toward one another.
