Satan
Bible study on Satan.

Gen. 3:15

Satan's first deception and the first prophesy of Christ occurred in the garden of Eden. Jesus would bruise Satan's head and Satan would bruise Jesus' heel.

There is no truth in Satan (Jn. 8:44). He sinned from the beginning (1 Jn. 3:8).

1 Jn. 3:8

Jesus was manifested for the purpose of destroying the works of the devil.

Jesus cast Satan out of the world (Jn. 12:31).

Matt. 4:6

Satan can use the Scriptures when tempting us.

People who are untaught and unstable twist the Scriptures to their own destruction (2 Pet. 3:16).

1 Pet. 5:8

Satan (i.e., the devil) is our adversary; he walks about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.

Job 1:1-2:13

God gives Satan limited authority to tempt us.

With every temptation, God makes a way of escape (1 Cor.10:13).

2 Cor. 11:13-15

Satan transforms himself into an angel of light and his ministers transform themselves into ministers of righteousness (cf. 2 Cor. 11:3; 1 Tim. 4:1).

The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan to deceive those who do not love the truth. Those who do not believe the truth are condemned (2 Th. 2:9-12).

1 Jn. 3:10

We are either children of God or children of the devil. The children of God practice righteousness and love their brother.

Rev. 20:1-3, 7-10

Satan is bound for a thousand years after which he will be released to deceive the nations.

Rev. 12:11

We overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb (i.e., Jesus).

Eph. 6:10-18

We stand against the wiles of the devil by putting on the whole armor of God (truth, righteousness, gospel of peace, faith, salvation, word of God, and prayer).

Ja. 4:7

If we resist the devil, he will flee from us.

We resist the devil by submitting to God. If we humbly draw near to God with clean hands and a pure heart, He will draw near to us (Ja. 4:7-10).

1 Pet. 5:8-10

We resist Satan being soberly and vigilantly steadfast in the faith.
